About Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts

Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts is a volunteer based organization that offers activities and events to all ages, all generations-from children to students to families to seniors. Nuvein raises funds for arts scholarships, and presents community programs showcasing literature and the arts.  Our mission is to educate, encourage and showcase. Our roots began in 1982, when Enrique Diaz had an idea on board the navy ship, the U.S.S. New Jersey. That idea was Nuvein magazine, the goal to bring to light new veins of expression. In 1996, he brought that literary expression to the world wide web. And in April 1997, Nuvein officially became a nonprofit organization, dedicated to connecting communities to the arts, supported by a dedicated group of volunteers from the San Gabriel Valley.
